We stop by the Zoo of Beijing to visit the gaint panda bear first thing in the morning. These lovely creatures are prised as the "pearl on the palm" for China. Onto Summer Palace, home for 30 years to the empress Dowager CiXi. It's breathtaking arrangement of lake and landscape, pagodas and pavilions. A boat ride on the Kunming lake will be another highlight of today.
