Xinjiang Desert Exploration by Camel Ride(Urumqi -Taklimakan desert -Kucha - Urumqi)
Day 1 Fly to Urumqi, and connect your flight to Hotan
Fly to Urumqi, and connect your flight to Hotan. Be met and transferred to the hotel.
Day 2 Drive Jeyya village, then take a camel ride into Taklimakan desert
Drive to Jeyya village, which is famous with its tie die local silk, a possible visit to the village before entering the desert. Then take a camel ride into the Taklimakan desert (camel riding around 6-7 hours). Overnight at camp site.
Day 3 Ride the camel to Rawak ancient town
Ride the camel to Rawak ancient town, and visit Buddhist pagoda ruins (built in Tang dynasty 6th century AD, combination of Persian Indian architectural style), Malike-awat ruins, Jade River and jade carving factory.
Day 4 A long day ride to Kucha
A long day ride (650km) to Kucha through Taklamakan Desert – the largest one in China. This road was the second desert highway in Taklimakan built in 2007.
Day 5 Full day Kucha tour
Explore Kizil Thousand Buddha Caves or Kizil Grotto Temples, where boasts some of the most impressive Buddhist art in Central Asia and date to the third century. In the afternoon, you will visit Tianshan Grand Canyon.
Day 6 Kucha tour, then take overnight train to Urumqi
Morning visit Subash ancient city ruins, local Bazzar of Kucha, old city area. After dinner, take overnight train to Urumqi
Day 7 Arrive at Urumqi, visit Xinjiang Museum
About noon arrive to Urumqi, check into Hotel, after lunch, visit the Xinjiang Museum.
Day 8 Urumqi departure
Transfer to the airport and fly to your next destination.
