Guilin
Located in the northeastern part of Guangxi, Guilin has long laid claim to having the most beautiful scenery in China . With its mild subtropical climate, it is a pleasant place tio visit at any time of the year. In autumn , when the sweet osmanthus is in bloom, the fragrance of the blossoms pervades the air. The shrub grows everywhere in and around the city; the name Guilin , in fact, means “ forest of sweet osmanthus”.
Elephant Trunk Hill
Elephant Trunk Hill( Xiangbishan ) is one of the Lijiang River 's most famous sights. The hill is situated on the western bank of the Lijiang River , to the southeast of Guilin . It looks like an elephant, dipping its snout into the Lijiang River , hence the name "Elephant Trunk Hill". This sight is very representative of the landscape around Guilin and is a symbol of Guilin itself. A park and a Ming Dynasty pagoda are found on and around the Elephant Trunk Hill. This peak is locate at the confluence of the Yangjiang River and the Lijiang.The entire hill looks like a drinking elephant with its long trunk in the river. Here the quality of the water is so good that famed Guiling wines are made from it. The cave looks like a full moon floating on the surface of the water with the moonlight reflected on the waves. |

Lijiang Scenery and Yangshuo
An eighty-three kilometer boat ride down the Lijiang river from Guilin south to Yangshuo is like a trip through a natural art gallery. Yangshuo is located at the lower reaches of the Lijinag River , it is know for having the most beautiful scenery in Guiling. The scenery around Yangshuo – the miles' of river and mountains stretching from Rooster Comb Rock to Xiangping—is one of the most enchanting landscapes in China . Located in south central China in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the city is considered the most picturesque in China . Solitary water-scarred limestone mountains rise out of the green plain, their peaks hidden in swirling mists of low-lying clouds. The city has been a favorite subject of painters for centuries. |

Reed-Flute Cave
Reed Flute Cave ( Ludi Yan ) contains some of the most extraordinary undergrou-nd scenery in all of China .The natural rock formations in the cave make up several scenes including " Primitive Forest ", " Crystal Palace ", and "Flower and Fruit Mountain ". While the multi-colored lighting may be annoying, the caves are really quite impressive. You can either follow one of the tours that go through the cave every 20 minutes, or take your time rejoining a tour later on. Reed Flute Cave is located on the northwest outskirts of Guilin , 5 kilometers away from the downtown area. Tickets into the cave cost RMB45 and it is well worth it.
