Chinanews, Beijing, Oct. 26 – Liu Yunhua, a senior official from China Association of Social Workers, said that senior citizens in China enjoy traveling out of hometown, and its specific tourism service tailored to their needs has become very popular. He revealed that the association usually receives more than 1,000 phone calls inquiring about the service everyday.

Experts said that senior citizens living in coastal areas in particular enjoy such kind of tourism.

The statistics provided by the China Society of Gerontology revealed that there are 150 million people aged above 60. Liu Deqian, an expert from China Academy of Social Sciences, said that as senior citizens have more time to enjoy themselves, main tourists have been senior citizens after the last National Day holidays (Oct. 1- 7).
